Gold Coast Running Assessments at The Good Joint: Move Better, Run Stronger

If you're a runner, whether beginner or seasoned you know that even the smallest imbalance can lead to big issues over time. At The Good Joint, our running assessments are designed to optimise your technique, prevent injury, and boost performance. Led by our in-house running experts Physiotherapist Issy Ryles and Osteopath Cahil Rankin, these sessions take a hands-on, movement-focused approach to improving how you run.

What Happens During a Running Assessment?

Come ready to run! This is not your average clinical consult—we’re getting you moving. Here's what to expect:

Initial Observation Run – You’ll be taken on a short outdoor course so your practitioner can observe your natural running technique in real time. This allows us to identify any inefficiencies, imbalances, or movement patterns that may be contributing to pain or holding back your performance.

Hands-On Treatment – Based on your assessment, you’ll receive targeted treatment from our resident running specialist. This may include manual therapy, soft tissue release, dry needling, cupping and personalised mobility work to address the root cause of dysfunction.

Corrective Exercise Prescription – You’ll be guided through specific exercises to support strength, stability, and improved biomechanics tailored to you and your goals.

Follow-Up Light Run – After treatment, you’ll go for a second short run to apply any changes made and ensure you're moving more efficiently.

Running Shoe Prescription – If required, we’ll recommend the best shoes for your gait and running style, with exclusive discounts through our partners at The Running Store.

Whether you're dealing with shin splints, recovering from injury, or simply want to run smarter not harder - book your running assessment at today and take the first step toward stronger, pain-free performance.
