FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I book an appointment?
Booking with Jo, our in-house psychologist, is easy. You can either call our friendly team on 0493 711 967 or request an appointment online here.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No referral is needed to see our psychologist — you’re welcome to book privately at any time.
However, if you’d like to access Medicare rebates, you’ll need a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. If you already have one, please bring it along to your first session.
How does a Mental Health Care Plan work?
A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) allows you to access up to 10 Medicare-subsidised psychology sessions per calendar year.
Initially, your GP can refer you for six sessions. After your sixth appointment, you'll return to your GP for a review, which may grant you access to four more sessions. MHCPs are valid for 12 months from the date they’re written.
How long is each psychology appointment?
Appointments with Jo are 60 minutes in length to ensure you have the space to be heard, supported, and guided with care.
Can I use private health insurance?
Yes — if your private health fund includes psychology cover, you may be eligible for a rebate. Rebates vary depending on your fund and level of extras cover.
We have HICAPS available on-site, so we can process your claim instantly and you’ll only need to pay the gap on the day.
Do you accept WorkCover referrals?
Yes. If you have a current WorkCover claim and medical certificate, you may be eligible for fully funded sessions. Our reception team will help coordinate the approval process and liaise directly with your claims manager to keep things smooth, discreet, and stress-free.
Can I use DVA (Department of Veterans' Affairs) referrals?
Yes. If you are a DVA cardholder and have a current referral from your GP, you may be eligible for fully funded psychology sessions.
We are proud to support veterans and service personnel and will work closely with DVA to ensure your care is approved and streamlined.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. Jo offers secure telehealth psychology appointments via video for clients who prefer to access support from home.
You’ll receive a private link to join your session online. Fees and Medicare/private health rebates are the same as in-person consults.
